“I wanted to start a revolution, using art to build the sort of society I myself envisioned.”
– Yayoi Kusama
My ticket and some brochures.
Welcome to the Yayoi Kusama infinity mirrors
Colorful figures with paintings in the background
A close up of the corners of the pieces of art.
The symbolism of the specific infinity mirrored room
Personally my favorite photo and infinity mirrored room out of the bunch.
The white and red polka-dotted figures reminded me of a sea plant or something I’ve seen in Sponge Bob
I did not take this photo (due to it not being aloud to take photos of the specific piece of artwork) but I had the pleasure to see it in person.
This piece of artwork’s lights changed colors every couple of seconds.
I thought of lady bugs when in this room.
The view through a giant round polka-dot figure.
For this room, the viewers received colorful polka-dot stickers to place where they wanted within the designated room.
On July 6th, I woke up at especially early to get in line to see the wonderfully special & limited time Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors exhibit. The art was so unbelievably breathtaking. If you live in the Seattle area or any other place where they display her work, I completely recommend viewing the art in person. One can learn more about the Seattle Art Museum’s display of her work here.
Please enjoy pictures from my experience at the spectacular and out of this world exhibit.
